New to the Sex Industry? Here’s Your ‘How-To’ Guide: Escorts Edition - Part V

How Do I Charge My Extras?

This is a common question for any new practitioner in the sex industry.

  • What extras do I add?

  • What do I charge for them?

What Is an Extra?

An extra, or addition, is a service that the practitioner is comfortable providing to the client that falls outside of the standard service.

At most Melbourne brothels, the standard service generally includes:

  • Sexual intercourse

  • Oral + hand relief

  • Light massage

This is the base. The ‘starter pack,’ if you will. But who doesn’t love an upgrade? Think first class over economy, a private hospital over a public one, or natural diamonds instead of lab-created. Upgrades are always better, and the same applies in the sex industry.

Extras can range from something simple, like kissing, to something more extreme, like anal. As Rachel, an experienced escort, explains, extras make you more desirable:

“In my experience, a lot of clients are happy with the standard service, but just as many love to upgrade. I offer a range of different services tailored to suit each client’s desires. When I started in the industry, I didn’t offer extras for the first few shifts. This was to get comfortable with the job and what was expected of me. Over time, I added my GFE (Girlfriend Experience), which included touching and kissing for an additional price. After about a month, I started offering my PSE (Pornstar Experience), which included a variety of services and positions. It quickly became one of my most popular options.

I offer these services because I’m comfortable with them. To any new practitioner, I always recommend asking yourself: ‘What am I comfortable providing as an extra?’ Stick with that. Never feel pressured to offer something you’re not comfortable with—because in the end, the person it affects most is you.”

How Do You Price Extras?

So, how do you know what to charge for your extras? Rachel continues:

“Some Melbourne brothels have an extras cap, meaning you can’t charge more than a set amount for certain extras. This actually makes it easier because the pricing decision is already made for you. However, where I currently work, there’s no cap.

When I first started pricing my extras, I spoke to other practitioners for advice. As much as I’d love to charge an obscene amount for additional services, clients simply won’t book if the price is too high. Most extras range between $50 - $150, depending on the duration of the booking. If a client requests something ‘out of the ordinary’—like anal or a specific fetish/kink—the pricing is at the practitioner’s discretion. It could be an extra $50 or an extra $500.

One piece of advice for new practitioners: Be aware of what your colleagues charge for extras. Almost every escort offers GFE or PSE, so if I charge $150 extra for PSE but my colleague charges only $100 extra, I risk losing bookings. It’s best to either keep pricing close or match it. As much as I love my fellow practitioners, they’re also my competition—and I don’t like to lose.”

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, right?
